Dandano is a self sustaining community project aimed at analyzing, documenting and archiving African film and music. For most of our young existence, a very tiny team has been responsible for the content we put out. However, we are at a point where growth is necessary and as such we’re inviting writers and photographers to join our team of contributors.
We’re looking to keep up with our numerous submissions as well as introduce new and interesting culture-based content, mostly outside of mainstream coverage but not limited to alternative, niche programming to our expanding readership. We invite writers from all of over the world to contribute to this community project. The only major requirements are access to the internet and the will to analyze and document African culture.
Writers will have the chance to pitch stories or pick from our editorial calendar on whichever topic interests them.
In addition to being dedicated and reliable, interested candidates should posses a keen understanding of our content, interests and editorial style, be inherently interested in African film and music and be eager to expand their knowledge bases.
Contributors should also specify how frequently they would like to write for DANDANO and well as their specific interest (music, film, events, etc). One time pitches on topical issues are also welcome and should contribute positively to discourse on African film and music. Photographers wishing to up their concert photography game should also get in touch with pitches.
Contributors should also be able to attend events like film festival, screenings, music concerts and workshops to represent DANDANO, depending on your location.
